Today marks the first day of spring. It’s the perfect time to transition from winter cozy to spring bloom. I’m always motivated to make small yet impactful interior changes to my surroundings that mirror the season of the moment and that bring me so much joy. Here are four simple ways to enjoy springtime in your home simply and elegantly.
Fresh Flowers
The natural beauty of fresh greeneries and handpicked florals adds a simple and elegant touch to any interior. I find arranging flowers incredibly relaxing and a creative outlet by assembling bouquets that are traditional, avant-garde, or wild. It’s so much fun to style a room with a particular color palette and size of bouquet from small and subtle for a nightstand to grand and magnificent for a dining table or main console. Fresh flowers are aesthetically edifying and perfectly embody spring.
Fresh Candles and Incense
For me, a beautiful interior setting must include fresh room scented candles or incense. There is something so invigorating when entering a room filled with fragrances and having your senses tantalized by fresh scents that transport you to somewhere special. This time of year, I have spring scented incense beside fresh floral arrangements in every room and floral scented candles lit in the evenings for a magical and refreshing touch of spring.
Fresh Storage
I’m a constant organizer and fastidious cleaner, so I don’t wait until springtime for a “spring cleaning.” But I do like to spruce up my surroundings especially this time of year. Perhaps it’s to make room for all the new linens, floral arrangements, candles, and incense. Decluttering is always at the forefront of my start to spring because I love a clean, simple, and elegant interior. Having a storage system is a must.
