How to Throw a Le Jardin Infini Garden Party

To be honest, I don’t enjoy picnics.  Sitting on a grass-covered blanket with flying gnats and mosquitoes and other bugs like ants crawling around is not my ideal way to enjoy food and drinks, no matter how good the company.  Thankfully, I don’t receive a lot of picnic invitations, but I do enjoy a good garden party that includes more comfortable furnishings and amenities like being on an outdoor terrace with patio furniture and a bathroom nearby.  I often enjoy an aperitivo on my outdoor balcony and love to host a garden party that overflows from the living room onto the balcony.  There is something so magical about enjoying summertime sunshine into the sunset and evening.   Here are four easy ways to throw an unforgettable garden party.

Seasonal Menu

Italy has one of the most beloved food scenes, and the Italians certainly know about seasonal cooking and using the freshest ingredients at the peak of their flavors.  Canned, jarred, and frozen foods are just typically not used, which is so preferable in my mind.  Of course, convenience sometimes intervenes, and canned tomatoes still make a delicious base for a tomato sauce, which I often use.  But, if you’re throwing a garden party, I think the added effort of creating a menu that incorporates what’s currently in season is a perfect way to entertain your guests.  Currently it’s summertime here, and I absolutely love incorporating seasonal ingredients such as cucumbers, zucchinis, tomatoes, peaches, and strawberries into my dishes. Yum.

Cocktail Bar

Whether with or without alcohol, beverages are personal. Providing your guests with a cocktail bar filled with a variety of beverage options and an opportunity for them to mix cocktails is a fun and entertaining way to throw a garden party.  For summer, I like to include chilled everything: water (sparkling, flat, tonic), fresh lemonade or sweet tea (for kids and nonalcoholic drinkers), gin, vodka, rum, mexcal or tequila, together with tons of fresh herbs and fruits (mint, rosemary, cucumbers, lime, lemon, oranges) for cocktails such as mojitos, sangrias, and margaritas.  And of course, for the purists, I love to include a refreshing rose wine, prosecco, and my personal gin & tonic (Bombay Sapphire gin, Fever Tree light tonic water, fresh rosemary, a lot of lemons, and ice).

Decorations

A garden party should not take place without the perfect flowers, foliage, and decorations (period!).  This is probably my favorite part about throwing an unforgettable garden party. The beauty of creating a personal garden for your guests to enjoy is so exciting, especially if it’s done right.  Guests come first.  They should feel comfortable, welcomed, and transported like Alice in Wonderland.  I’m also a practical person, so I like to decorate with additional purposes.  For example, Le Jardin Infini (“the infinite garden”) offers real roses that were picked at their peak bloom and then preserved in a non-toxic formula to preserve their natural beauty.  All Le Jardin Infini bouquets are beautifully wrapped in an elegant box that come in a variety of sizes (small, medium, large), shapes (round, box, heart), and colors.  Le Jardin Infini also offers 9 Rose Collections and Event Orders that from range of 1-10 to 1000+ bouquets depending on your decorating style and guest list size, which is wonderful for a garden party. What I love about Le Jardin Infini is that each bouquet of roses serves as décor, but then later also as gifts for each guest to take home conveniently in an elegant box.  Unlike a traditional bouquet or centerpiece in a vase filled with water, Le Jardin Infini bouquets require absolutely no maintenance (no watering, no plant food, no trimming, etc.) because they are already preserved in a box, so your guests can enjoy their roses all year round in their homes, offices, or even recycle them as gifts for others to enjoy.  (I love the sustainability of Le Jardin Infini roses!)  Decorating with Le Jardin Infini roses allows me to create an unforgettable garden party because how can one forget a party with roses that last forever.  Le Jardin Infini rose bouquets are not only elegant for decorating a garden party, but they can be repurposed as gifts for your guests to enjoy infinitely.

Entertainment

Aside from an amazing playlist of music and good company, I like to offer guests a fun and creative opportunity to plant something.  It is after all a garden party.  A simple DIY tablescape for guests to create their own succulent garden at your garden party is a lovely way to entertain.  A table includes: a variety of succulents, small pots or cake pans, cactus/succulent potting soil, moss, sand, and rocks.  Like a cocktail bar, these items are laid out for guests to assemble and enjoy, preferably setup outside, on the patio, or the balcony to avoid unnecessary mess.

Cheers to summer!
