Vacation Skincare

One of the great joys in life is travel.

The gift of setting off to visit new and exciting places, trying new cuisines and experiencing new sights and sounds. Travel, of course, is deeply personal, and whether it is to a nearby city or a distant country, the ability to have these moments and memories is a treasure.

Travel, of course, brings its own challenges. There are the long lines and delays – and even cancellations – at the airport, the hassle of flights and lost luggage, the exhaustion of time zone changes, jet lag, and disruptions to sleep patterns.

And then there are the problems that travel, especially international travel, can pose to skin care. Dry air on the plane, dehydration from long flights, jet lag and lost sleep, sudden even dramatic changes to climate and temperature, sun exposure, and, yes, the temptations of enjoying too many alcoholic beverages that can cause more dehydration.

Add to all of those risks, there is the temptation to skip your routine of skin care. After all, who doesn’t want to get out and see the sights and taste the local food? But it comes at a price. With jet lag, overdoing it with sun and water, and sometimes not eating in a healthy way, we can all wake up with drier skin, wrinkles, and those annoying dark circles.

Which brings me to my absolute go-to skin care product: the VIIcode O2M Oxygen Eye Pads!

Pronounced “Vee Two,” the VIIcode Oxygen Eye Mask is essential not just for your daily skin care but is particularly important for travel. Made for treating dark circles, it is a powerful and unique source of nutrients and water to penetrate all the way into the bottom layer of the skin. It is intended to refresh and rejuvenate your skin and reduce signs of aging around one of the most troublesome parts of the face – the eyes.

How does it do that so well?

Healthy Ingredients:

Caffeine

Tea polyphenols

Retinol

Primrose

VIIcode O2M Oxygen Eye Pads utilize six pairs of eye masks in each box. Each individually wrapped gentle oxygen eye mask is designed for continuous eight-hour use overnight and contains a natural, alcohol-free, non-irritating formula and is safe to use, with rare hand selected plant ingredients, including: Caffeine, Tea polyphenols, Retinol, and Primrose.

Caffeine is an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory and assists with skin moisture circulation, with antioxidant properties that help improve microcirculation and reduce dark circles under the eyes and that help protect cells from UV radiation.

Tea Polyphenols are excellent moisturizing ingredients that can inhibit the activity of collagenase, so they can help skin elasticity and delay skin aging as well as tighten the skin and reduce the formation of wrinkles through astringent properties.

Retinol can make the skin firm and smooth, prevents the degradation of collagen in the dermis, and works to reduce fine lines and restore skin elasticity.

Primrose helps cells to retain more water and can assist in repairing skin while relieving difficult skin conditions such as eczema and dry itching.

Taken together, these ingredients will reduce the signs of aging around the eyes and give you a potentially more youthful appearance.  Use at home is a must, but when you are traveling it is also a indispensable part of travel skin care, most so because the masks are easy to pack and even easier to use.

When you go to bed, VIIcode recommends that you gently clean and dry your eyes with warm water and apply the mask approximately 0.12 inch (3mm) beneath the lower eyelids. It is that simple. I have to remember not to sleep with the masks for more than eight hours, and when I wake up I simply remove each of the eye masks. And if you feel uncomfortable sleeping with the masks, you can wear them for 2-4 hours during the day or just before going to bed. They really are that easy.

VIIcode is also committed to quality assurance and customer satisfaction. If you are not happy with results or the product, they want to hear from you.

So what were these like to use during my recent travel? I spent two weeks in Portugal in early August. It was a gorgeous city and I loved every minute of the trip, but it was also 100 degrees Fahrenheit (37 degrees Celsius) for several days, and I always deal with jet lag. The masks were a life saver. I went to bed with them and woke up the next morning feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. I can’t recommend these more highly.
