Self-care Skincare for at Home

It’s hard to imagine our current state of social distancing, self-isolation, and fear during a world pandemic. Like most of us, I’m trying my best to cope with the situation while staying safe, healthy, and productive. Thankfully, no one close to me has gotten sick from COVID-19, and I am praying it stays that way. I send special prayers to those who have been deeply affected.

As of a week ago, I’ve been home in self-isolation except for necessary outings to Trader Joe’s and my doctor’s (not for COVID-19, but a burn I suffered). Current times have put so many things into greater perspective for me, and one thing I do not want to take for granted is self-care during anxious times, and that includes skincare. Stress and anxiety during fearful times like this can cause so much wear and tear on the body, which is often so visibly noticeable on one’s skin. For me, I can get hives during extreme stress. (For example, I suffered an anaphylactic reaction when I sat for the bar exam to become a licensed attorney; I actually drove myself to the hospital right after the exam! And thankfully I still passed! But I nonetheless drove myself nuts for fear of failure, and my health and skin suffered dearly for it.) Healthy skincare is so important to me because it’s not only a sign of physical and mental health, but as we age, our skin naturally loses its elasticity and becomes more fragile. No matter one’s age, it’s never too late or early for good skincare. This blog post is all about how I’m using my extra time at home to take even better care of myself by incorporating VIIcode Oxygen Eye Masks and staying positive, productive and healthy.

If you’ve been following my blog and Instagram for a while now, you’ll know that I love good skincare. But to be honest, eye masks and face masks weren’t part of my ritual. I definitely have a skincare routine that works for me, and I can’t believe it’s taken me until now to try out eye masks. What intrigued me the most about VIIcode Oxygen Eye Masks was the word, “Oxygen.” I’m a stickler for beautiful packaging, especially for beauty/make-up, but when it comes to my skincare, I want to know the ingredients and feel confident that it’s backed by nature and science. If I read all ingredients on food packaging before deciding whether to digest it, I’m definitely reading all the ingredients on what I put on my face! Oxygen increases blood flow, improves circulation, and it’s just essential. Isn’t that why we exercise for cardiovascular health? So taking extra care of myself during this time at home with oxygen boosting skincare is one of the ways I’m trying to stay positive, productive, and healthy, especially when my yoga studio and gym are now closed.

My VIIcode Eye Masks contain oxygen boosting ingredients that are natural, alcohol-free, and non-irritating, such as chamomile, avocado, grapeseed oil, elderberry, white tea, evening primrose, seaweed, resurrection fern and welwitschia mirabilis. You can visit the full list of natural ingredients here. Told you! 🙂

For oxygen-boosted brighter eyes!

I’m currently using VIIcode Oxygen Eye Masks for Dark Circles. To be honest, I’ve never had major issues with dark circles under my eyes, but various factors can lead to them, including lifestyle and lack of sleep. During these nerve-racking times, I figured these were worth a shot and perfect to prevent any dark circles. The instructions indicate that you can wear the masks for up to 8 hours. So lovely, especially overnight. Each box contains 6 pairs of eye masks for 6 uses. As with any skincare, I always test a small sample on my wrist to see if there might be any irritation before full use. With these masks, instead of 8 hours for my first time, I wore the masks for only 2 hours in the beginning and then upgraded to overnight as instructed. As marketed, these masks are definitely non-irritating. In fact, they are the opposite…. soooo soooooothing. I could feel and see a noticeable difference in the color, pigment, and hydration under my eyes immediately. I was totally impressed after my first use, that I knew I could confidently continue with my other VIIcode Eye Masks during this time of self-isolation at home.

Now I want to try out VIIcode’s Oxygen T2 Eye Cream! T2 includes a process of stone mortar extraction, which promotes healing and regeneration of skin cells near the eyes and other delicate areas of the face. Amazing.

A small skincare delight or a little TLC goes a long way, and I am sending everyone lots of love during this time!
